Which Posts on Eccentric Do You Enjoy?

Making some changes to eccentric, and I would love to know some feedback about what you enjoy reading and discussing (the most.)

Do you like the new “Liz’s Off-Topic Forum?” Should I scrap it? Please take a moment to complete the above poll.

Thank you for your votes! This is a huge help, not only to me, but other bloggers as well!

This idea for this poll originated from Roughseasinthemed – the most brilliant woman I have met on WordPress.com. Roughseasinthemed – your intelligence And writing is the best writing ever read. This includes published articles. Your intelligence exceeds that of any person or blogger I know.

  1. You really should just post whatever you want though!

    • @bossymoksie – This is true. I guess I need a poll as I am so “rangy.” I figured a poll may give me some new topics to write about and an idea of what eccentric’s followers enjoy. I could probably write on anything, so I guess it’s nice to get some feedback once in a while. A blogger from my blogroll, roughseasinthemed has done polls, and she made me think of it (sorry roughseas, I know your comments always get my mind working.) I thought it would be nice to hear what people enjoy reading on a blog. :) I have never thought of doing a poll before, like the idea.

  2. I don’t have a particular theme or set of subject matter. The door is open to most anything. That may not work for other websites, but I always like reading your posts. :)

    • @John – my posts are not in order or in any category. Took a while for readers to understand. I have met people from all cultures, backgrounds, and social status.

My outgoing personality has led me in so many directions.

Understandably, hard for readers to follow. Had great political affiliations, many sexual adventures, many loves, many unusual events.

My life would not be the norm of any person. I expect the unexpected. Meeting and trying new things is my cup of tea.

Not False, that’s Eccentric. I am now old enough to tell the events of my life.

      Many more to come….

      • Adventures, aye? Tell me more. Did you get my mail?

        • @John – haven’t checked it yet. I met with some friends last night, we had fun. Lots of conversation for blogging ideas. Well, the adventures would embarass the children, so I have decided to write a book when they go off to college. I will write some of them in the future, but to be honest…people would think I made up the events. My life sounds fictional, but it’s not. I can talk to strangers, anyplace and anywhere and I guess this has made my life anything but normal.

I would have to write the book with witness testimony, and any other evidence to support the events. A post on a blog, I fear would be stolen and then I wouldn’t be able to write the book.

I am trying not to give out too much, to save for the book, so it isn’t copied. :)

  3. Thanks for the compliment, I did vote. I tried to be selective in case it helped. I do agree with Bossy that you should post what you want (and I get the impression that’s what you are doing). Some blogs lend themselves to a wide variety of topics and yours is one of them.

My main criteria for roughseas is that posts must have some vague connection with Gib or Spain, but that still gives me lots of scope.

I thought it was interesting doing my poll (haven’t done one for ages), although I did include an option that said ‘all, I like the mix.’ What was really helpful were the comments that people left though, about they liked a little personal info, or my personal take on events (because otherwise they might as well be reading the bbc website IMO), some people like photos, others don’t like too many, so I often use the slideshow so people can skip that rather than scrolling down loads of pix. And people continue to give feedback on posts about what they like which is great.

Some people like statistics, quite a few say they appreciate the research that goes into the posts, even though a topic may be complex. Others say they don’t like long posts but I haven’t noticed that make any difference. Regular readers come to expect a certain style which presumably works for them or they wouldn’t return. I think long interesting posts are better than short meaningless ones. Judging by the comments, people still read my longer posts so I must be doing something right.

I did find that what people say they liked and the most popular posts didn’t hang together though :D So I’m not sure if I answered your poll correctly ie what do I comment on most. Polls are fun, subjective, and like many statistics, give an indication to be added to the total mix.

Thank you for your opinion and feedback. I will visit your blog and comment. Have a wonderful day!
