What Happened?

Basic needs seem to not be met, from what people are telling me this week.

For example: families having their electric shut off and cannot afford to turn it back on. How can this be?

In all honesty, I have never seen the economy so bad in my lifetime.

Seems like every person I have spoke with this week is in serious need of just basic, food, clothing, shelter, utilities, etc.

The basics were at one time easy for these middle class families to afford.

Cannot believe families are having to live without electric in their home.

Shitty Economy…worse than shitty.

Don’t know what to call it…whatever means worse than shitty.

Rent or Buy?

Which do you think is better? Renting or buying a home?

There are advantages to both.

Taking a poll on this question. Thinking of moving.

What is your opinion?

Useless Fact #10

Don’t know which bills to pay first? Pay all household bills first, in this order:
Rent/House payment
Electric
Water
Garbage
Car insurance
Car payment
Cable
Phone
Internet
Credit cards (pay last)

All bills that keep your home running are the most important. You cannot get ready for work without electric.

What’s the point in having a phone if you get kicked out of your home for not paying rent?

Your Internet will not work without electricity. Pay all bills within the “walls” of your home first. Then car, then everything else.

Useless Fact #5

Need more money? Cut up your ATM/Debit card and only use checks or cash. Why? We Americans do not think before we swipe our ATM or credit cards.

Over – Qualified?

Academic

Academic (Photo credit: tim ellis)

I have been told during my job search that because I have a college degree and experience that I am “over-qualified.” What is that supposed to mean? How can a person be over-qualified? Isn’t being qualified a good thing?

Is a college degree a negative on the resume these days? Every single interview I have went to in the past few months, I have been told I am over qualified.

So, I am going back to a Nursing Aid job, even though I have years of office and accounting experience. I guess I should have spent the money on my degree on something else. Perhaps my own business?
