Useless Fact #34

Are you a procrastinator (like me)?

Try making a list of short-term goals. The list should include your goals for the next six months.

Write a date beside each goal. Complete the goal by that date.

Tape the list to your bathroom mirror. Each day, the list will be a reminder as you are getting ready for the day.

I learned this from my aunt. She is a brilliant woman. Thank you Aunt Deb.

Useless Fact #33

It is impossible to make another person love you, even if you love them.

If you love your significant other, but they do not love you.

Move on and start dating again.

The loves of my past taught me this vital fact of life.

Useless Fact #32

How do you know when you are an alcoholic?

If you ever have to ask yourself this question:

“Did I drink yesterday?”

Useless Fact #31

Are you consistently angry?

Do people often fail to rise to your expectations? Does this make you angry?

The reason others are failing is because you have set expectations that are unrealistic. The expectations are too high for that person. Try setting expectations for others that are more realistic.

We cannot control what any other person does or says, we are only human.

Appropriate expectations of others = less anger.

It is possible that person is not capable of rising to your expectations for a variety of reasons?

How do I know this?

I read the information in a self-improvement book.

Useless Fact #30

A very special person once said to me, “Liz, the more you do, the more you can do.”

I remember her words so clearly and how that sentence is so true. That very sentence has helped me through some of the hardest times of my life.

When I am feeling down or not good enough for whatever reason, I think of those words. I then put those words into action and get back up and try again.

The more you do, the more you can do.

Useless Fact #29

How do you get a person to do something you want?

Act like you want that person to do the opposite. Why? A persons first reaction is to say “no” to everything.

So, if you really want a person to do something your way, act like you want them to do the exact opposite. Then, they will actually do the opposite of what you say. Confusing, isn’t it? Here is a true story example.

For example: If you really want a job, do not act as if you really want the job. An employer can smell desperation a mile away.

I had an employer who actually hired me and paid me more, because I told him I would “think about it.” The employer then called me weeks later, and offered me a much higher salary. I asked my boss why he had hired me at such a higher salary, he said, “I always want, what I cannot have.”

Strange, but true.

Useless Fact #28

If your man does any of the following:

Hits you
Verbally abuses you
Leaves you with no money
Hurts animals
Has a serious drug problem
Cheats on you
Abuses your children
Separates you from family & friends

Leave immediately. Go get on welfare and apply for HUD or government housing.

All of these are signs of a sociopath.

It will escalate and only get worse.

Leave. Now. No excuses!
